Collaboration

Net Zero Industry aims to be a unifying force and promote dialogue, knowledge sharing, innovation, education, demonstration, and implementation of new skills and technologies. The focus remains on the needs of the industry and the goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 75%.

The program is aimed at the manufacturing industry, but essentially encompasses the entire value chain—from raw materials to finished products and recycling.

We want to engage the manufacturing industry that has the greatest impact on the transition to net-zero emissions, such as automotive, aerospace, machinery, energy, telecommunications, electronics, and defense. Academia, research institutes, regions, and organizations that significantly influence the industry, including developments within small and medium-sized enterprises, are also important for the program.

Mission-based approach

Sweden has a long history of implementing reforms and testing various innovative methods. As an Impact program, a mission-based approach will be used. This means that the work is based on a measurable, ambitious, and long-term challenge goal that creates sustainable solutions to global societal challenges. The approach aims to mobilize different stakeholders and contribute to collaborative development.

Inclusion as a Principle

To achieve the program’s ambitious goals, collaboration and inclusion are essential principles for the mission-oriented approach.

By strengthening the industry’s stakeholders, researchers, and decision-makers, the program aims to contribute to existing arenas. The idea of the program is that together we can address complex challenges that individual actors cannot solve on their own, and we need to leverage various perspectives and experiences to create sustainable solutions for the future.

The program’s organization and implementation are based on broad stakeholder collaboration. Its steering group consists of representatives from industrial companies, research institutes, and academia, and is led by the CEO of Teknikföretagen.

The program office of Net Zero Industry is managed by Teknikföretagen and RISE. Our operations are also carried out in close collaboration with the manufacturing industry, the Swedish Production Academy, and the Swedish Product Development Academy.

The program forum ensures breadth

A program forum is being established where 20-30 stakeholders will participate to contribute to the program’s direction and development.

The program forum will be tasked with ensuring a breadth of central perspectives to achieve the program’s mission.
